How we work it out
Wall area
Distance around the room times ceiling height, minus about 20 sq ft (1.9 m²) per door and 15 sq ft (1.4 m²) per window.
Coverage
One gallon covers roughly 350 sq ft (about 8.6 m² per litre). Check the can: textured or dark walls take more.
Round up
We round up to the next quart (or half litre) so you don't run short on the last wall.
Questions
Does it save what I type?
No. Everything is worked out on your device and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Do I need primer?
If you are covering a dark colour or bare wall, a primer coat counts as another coat: set Coats to 3.
Is this exact?
It's an estimate. Labels on the can give the exact coverage for that paint.
